Merry Christmas from DadsPipes

It’s that time of year again, with all the wonder, joy, kindness, caring, stress, anxiety, loneliness and yes, even loss that comes with it. Moreover, it is another COVID Christmas, which adds another, less welcome, dimension to the 2021 Holiday season.

Here at DadsPipes, as in many places across Canada and around the world, local public health restrictions prevent us from gathering physically with extended family and friends, but we’ll be connecting online, by telephone and even through a few Christmas cards – much like we did in the pre-Internet days, so there’s an odd bit of nostalgia already built into this holiday season!

I hope that you, too, have the opportunity to share the holidays, virtually or otherwise, with loved ones far and near this season. Wherever you are and however you choose to celebrate, Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year to all of you!

  1. Good morning Charles,

    Just read your Christmas greeting.

We have had to cancel our kid’s visit, partially due to covid, partially because Jan has been ill for over 2 weeks, ( but was starting to fell better yesterday). Jan and I will enjoy the day together and instead on turkey dinner – the turkey has been put in the freezer until Jan has fully recovered – I’ll be making a comfort food dinner, her favourite, Omelettes.

Christmas is special to us and even though there are some disappointments, in the big scheme of things these disappointments pale compared to our blessings.

I hope you have a great day. Thanks for your dedication to the hobby of pipe smoking and the interesting articles you share. It truly is one of the many little things that bring fun to my day when I read them.

Merry Christmas to you and your family,

    Marlowe
