This list is a sampling of the most commonly requested repairs. If your pipe needs something not listed above, please contact me to discuss options.
Prices start as low as $15CAD and go up from there depending on the complexity of the work required. Please contact me for a no-obligation quote. Final pricing will be determined only after I have inspected the pipe firsthand to determine the scope of the work.
Please note that estate pipes are, by their very nature, fragile objects. It is not uncommon to discover additional issues caused by use, misuse or misadventure (i.e. heat damage, burnouts, cracks or thinned chamber walls or floor). Any such issues will be reported to the client and a revised plan of action and total repair cost agreed upon.
Getting Your Pipe to Me for Repairs
I always suggest contacting me first with a description of the pipe and the work you’d like done.
Pack your pipe well for shipping. While padded mailing envelopes can be less expensive than boxes, I do NOT recommend mailing a pipe in a bubble mailer as damage to the pipe is much more likely. Remove the stem from the stummel and wrap the parts securely to avoid damage in transit. Your pipe should not rattle around inside the shipping box.
Mail your pipe to me at:
DadsPipes.com
PO Box 39, St George Brant PO
St George Brant, ON N0E 1N0
CANADA
Where possible, please share the tracking number for your parcel. This helps me plan trips to the post office for pickup.
Tips for International Shipments
NEW! All shipments from outside of Canada must include a completed Work Order Form, available here. Please download the form, complete it and included a printed copy with your pipes.
When completing your paperwork, please avoid using the word “tobacco” on your customs form as it seems to upset the good people at the Canada Border Services Agency. International shipments should be declared as “Estate Pipe for Repair” to avoid unnecessary border fees.
It is sometimes possible to be reimbursed by the CBSA for improperly imposed border charges, but this is the exception, not the rule. Unfortunately, customs charges are outside my control and may be passed on to the customer.
Return Shipping
After repairs are complete, your pipe will be securely packaged and returned to you via Canada Post. Tracking and up to $100CAD insurance coverage is included by default where available. Additional insurance coverage is available at market rates.
Return shipping and any additional insurance fees are billed to you at cost on top of the repair/restoration fees. I do not up-charge on shipping.
International shipping costs vary widely, especially when tracking and insurance is required. Please ask for a shipping quote to determine the best option for you.
Payments
All work is invoiced in Canadian Dollars ($CAD).
I accept payments by e-transfer (within Canada) and Paypal (worldwide).
Cash payment is not available at this time. Curb-side pickup can be arranged after online payment is received.
