New at DadsPipes for 2020!

Hi everyone. I’m excited to share some new developments here at DadsPipes for 2020!

First off, I’m sure regular readers have noticed the return of the Pipe Repairs page. After making several improvements to the shop (including tooling, organization and the old codger knocking around in it), I am pleased to be able to once again offer pipe repairs, modifications and restorations to the wider pipe smoking community!

Secondly, I have recently published a new, dedicated mailing address for DadsPipes on the Contact page. You can now send your pipes to me at:

DadsPipes
PO Box 39 St George Brant PO
St George Brant, ON N0E 1N0

CANADA

2020 is also the target year to publish the Brigham Pipes book. I’m currently eyebrows deep in research, digging up data and scanning archival pics. I have a good idea about what I want to put in the book – what about you? If there is anything you’d particularly like to see in the finished book, please leave your comments below and I’ll do my best to include it.

One last thing before I sign off. As a sideline to the pipe restorations, I’ve also added Unfinished Pipe Rack Kits to my Pipe Inventory page. After creating a 48-space rack for myself and getting good feedback on it from a few pipers, I decided to make these available to others looking for good quality affordable pipe furniture to house their collections. Made to order from solid Poplar or Oak, these racks are sized to accept today’s larger pipes. No more squeezing those Freehands into vintage racks made for small billiards!

That’s it for now, though I hope to make more additions to the site before too long. Thanks to everyone for your ongoing support of DadsPipes and the work I’m doing here. None of this would be possible without you!

Until next time, Happy Piping!

  1. Charles, great to hear of these developments! I look forward to your book coming out. I recall asking you about the sizing of your pipe racks and the issue of today’s larger pipes. It looks good. What do you do, cut the pieces and send it as a kit or? I’ve been working on that here in Bulgaria – there’s just not pipe racks around here so I’m going to be making some too!

  2. I am glad to hear you are working on a Brigham book. It’s a project that I’ve felt needed doing for awhile. I’ve been a Brigham customer for almost 50 years. Would you mind me sending you a few photo’s of a some pipes that might be of interest to you.
