Announcements

We Are Back!

I’m thrilled to announce that the Canada Post workers’ union has ended the national mail strike, so letters and parcel are beginning to flow across Canada once again!

Thank you to all of you who have been waiting patiently to send your cherished pipes in for repair or restoration. New shipments will be accepted at post offices across the country starting tomorrow, Wednesday October 15, 2025, though some delays should be expected as Canada Post works to clear the backlog.

As a reminder, when mailing your pipes to me for repair:

I recommend packing the parts securely in a sturdy box for shipment. Items should not rattle around when the box is shaken. This helps to protect the contents from damages en route. I do not recommend mailing pipes in a bubble envelope.

If you are a new customer or will be shipping your pipes from outside of Canada, please click the link to download the DadsPipes Work Order Form. Complete the form and include a printed copy with your shipment.

If you will be shipping from outside of Canada, please declare the parcel as “Estate Pipe for Repair & Return” (tariff code 9993.00.00) to avoid import fees at the border. A proper Customs declaration is important, as getting any sort of refund on border fees can take up to 10 months and a full refund is not guaranteed. For this reason, any import duties levied on the shipment must be added to the final invoice pending a successful refund application. Thanks for your understanding.

If you are shipping from the USA, please note that, while a pipe sent for repairs is considered a “temporary import for repair and return”, the ongoing trade dispute may result in shipping delays and/or additional fees at Customs when the pipe enters Canada, re-enters the US, or both. I have no control over these fees.

Please also note that all parcels shipped to the USA now require that duties and taxes are prepaid before the parcel ships. These charges will appear on the final invoice.

Return shipping is billed at cost via Canada Post, insured and trackable. I accept online payment via e-transfer (within Canada) and PayPal (worldwide) when the work is complete.

Thanks to everyone for their patience during this period of upheaval. I look forward to working on your pipes again soon!
