Canada Post Workers On Strike

As many of you already know, the union representing 55,000 workers at Canada Post has announced a strike, effective 25 September 2025. Canada Post’s operations will shut down during a national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.

What to Expect During a National Strike

Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network.

No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume.

My Recommendations For Clients

If you have already mailed a parcel, delivery will be delayed for the duration of the strike. There is no way to divert parcels already with Canada Post. Outgoing mail, including completed repairs and book orders, will also be delayed.

If you have repairs waiting to be sent, please do not mail them until after the strike. While private courier services like FedEx and DHL are still operating, they cannot deliver to a PO Box address.

For clients in the St George, ON area, in-person pickup and drop-off are still available. Please contact me for details.
