So Long, Facebook!

Hi everyone.

Following Meta’s recent announcement that it is discontinuing its fact-checking requirement for Facebook and allowing AI “people” to interact as humans, my time on that site is coming to a close. With no way to verify if I’m interacting with a real human or not, the dearth of scams on Facebook Marketplace and the flood of not-quite-overtly-sexual-enough-to-ban videos and other posts, I’m getting out while I have a shred of sanity left. To that end, I will be deleting both my personal and DadsPipes accounts no later than the 15th of January 2025.

I encourage all of you that have been following DadsPipes on Facebook to jump on over to DadsPipes.com and subscribe to the blog to ensure that you keep getting notification of new restoration posts and other announcements. Nothing is changing on the website, but obviously those who have been contacting me via Facebook Messenger will need to email me instead. My apologies for the disruption, but I’m no longer willing to tacitly support an organization like Meta that has such obvious disregard for its users.
