This pipe is, I believe, a reproduction of a typical clay tavern pipe from the 18th and 19th Centuries and features a long, thin shank and a red varnished tip which stops the clay from sticking to the lips during use.
Marked simply “Made in England”, the pipe measures 9-1/2″ long with a relatively small bowl measuring 1-3/8″ tall by 3/4″ wide. Chamber bore is approximately 5/8″ in diameter.
This pipe has been very gently used, and is clean, fresh and ready for a new steward to take it on. Perfect for the Tolkien or Conan Doyle fan out there!
