Peterson’s Shape 101 is a classic Straight Billiard. Here it is presented in an Silver Mounted Army configuration with P-lip stem.
The graining on this piece of briar is something to see in person, with a lovely mix of vertical and flame patterns on bowl and shank. The stem is a slightly shorter than stock Vulcanite replacement.
The pipe is stamped “Peterson’s” (with a forked-tail P) over “Dublin 2” on the left shank and “Made in the Republic of Ireland” in 3 lines on the right shank, plus the shape number, “101”. The silver shank cap is marked “Peterson’s” over “Dublin, then “Sterling Silver” and a trio of silver hallmarks dating this piece to 1976.
Pipe measures 5″ long overall from front of bowl to end of stem. Bowl stands approximately 1-3/4″ tall by 1-1/4″ wide with a chamber bore just over 3/4″ in diameter.
